I still remember my childhood, where most of the time we spent in kampung which lack of basic utilities such as electricity.. Can you imagine studying with oil lamp where U most probably wake up with black ash ready to be dig in your nostril?? the fuckin Oily black ash.. Yeah, I've done that until I was 10..
No Electricity means No TV, No Laptop, No internet.. Can U really imagine life of that time?? But for sure, fun isn't just on the internet like we love to claim nowadays.. How long can you live without internet nowadays..
So, creativity is the big experience I got having a childhood like that.. Let we see what we have in our fuckin box to do it real fun outbox..
Fun Fair
Well, for everyone of us, Fun Fair is sure a place where all colorful light are there and most of the games is interesting which offer a great prizes to be won.. And mostly important, money to get in there.. But in kampung, trust me, our funfair were FREE!!..
Have you watch the Tarzan (cartoon) long time ago?? That's our funfair to be exact.. Jungle, with all the tree and it's root dangling here and there make it a perfect place to play.. And yeah, playing run and catch up there, is sure thrilling but real fun.. Not that high in the air actually, but most of us love to be like 10-15 meters above the ground.. The more access and choice of route you have, the more chance of you to escape from being caught..
And the most interesting part, there's now way you want to touch the ground, as if you do so, that's the time when U r the one getting the turn to catch up people.. So, the rule is simple, escape from being caught, and never touch the ground.. The prize is mostly, LOVE BITE, or to be exact, Mosquito bite.. :D..
Kitchen Play
Do you know most of kampung girl/boy can cook?? And where do you think that came from?? Ok, from regular basic training at home is one option, but we got our own special kitchen play.. Most kid at kampung age 8-12 love to have Kitchen Play.. And we done it for real!!
We never select any special day for this.. Just make a deal with friend, and here we goes, heading to the next river, and bring some rice along.. Non cook.. Then most of the boy will bring net and fishing rod.. So, 2-3 person go find bamboo and firewood..
Then the girl will surely start cooking the rice, and we boys go mandi manda while try to catch some fish.. Then, after the girl finish cooking the rice, and the meal, which is most of the time was Fish Soup, we mandi manda and then go home.. ^_^.v..
Paintball
Yeah, I think most of you can imagine the game already.. Run, Hide, and Shoot.. And the hell is, our playground isn't made of plastic.. It's a real jungle, where you might found 'cute' snake sleeping, wild boar wandering around and you'll never wanna mess with them..
And presenting you the gun and the bullet..
So, in this case, we never ran out of bullet, coz it's everywhere in the jungle.. Plus, we got the rotten egg as bomb, and I got many coz my grandpa got a lot of em.. Yeah, he had so many chix.. oh, I mean hen to produce em.. :D..
Mesmerize enough?? Well, that's all to be shared today, coz I don't want you to be jealous of our fun childhood.. Yeah, you maybe got your own nintendo and play circus at your 8th, but that time, we make our own funfair, you maybe playing kontra, but we are having paintball and while you cook virtually, we eat a real food in the jungle..
Well, we maybe late in having good time playing nintendo, but at least, we play it, but U'll never got the chance to try our activities, I mean, our childhood game.. Ha ha ha.. This is our different, and I'll always love to be called, Kampung Boy.. ^_^.v..
Aki : I love my childhood, coz, It's where I'm being over creative.. ^_^.v..

cool! hahaha.. well i grew up as kampung girl too bah. hehehe. and i agree with u that lack of technology during our childhood really help much in nurturing the creativity in kids. compare to kids nowadays, they only know how to be creative with their gadgets and so forth -___-''

Have a grrrreat week ya.
Boy, what have I missed! I've never experienced kampong life. Been a city gal since birth. Must be fun & life's so pure.
awesome childhood! :D
paling la kami dlu men masak2 d bawa kulung..haha..rindu owhh :')
main masak2 la yg paling sia suka sebab buli main api betul2 walaupun yg kena masak tu hanyalah daun2 LOL!
Pigi sekolah, dayung perahu. Petik sayur pakis di hutan bikin lauk, eh mcm2la.. Kampung xda karan, lampu pun yg pakai bateri kereta sja, tv xda. Angkat air utk kegunaan rumah dari sungai yg hampir 0.5 km dari rumah.. Ambil upah angkat buah kelapa.
Dgn pengalaman jd tanak kampung, bangga jugalah siapa kita hari ni kan? Hehehe..
